Google Business Profile management in Huntington Beach
We work on the profile Google shows when someone looks up your business: its name, category, address, phone and the buttons to call or get directions. We do it with the access you give us from your own Google account, from our office in Huntington Beach.
The parts
What a Google Business Profile is made of
A profile is a card on Google Search and Maps. These are the parts people read and tap first.
Name
The business’s real-world name, as it appears on its storefront and its paperwork. Google’s guidelines ask for the name alone, with no keywords added.
Category
The primary category says what kind of business this is, and helps Google match the profile to the searches it belongs in.
Address
Where customers can visit. A business that serves customers at their own location can show a service area instead.
Phone
The number people call straight from the card, without opening a website.
Buttons
The actions people take from the card, such as calling, getting directions or opening the website.
The work
What managing a profile involves
Google Business Profile management is the ongoing work of keeping a business’s profile on Google Search and Maps accurate and complete. The profile is free and belongs to the business. Google asks the owner to verify it before most changes can be made, and an owner can add other people as managers without sharing a password. Managing it covers the facts on the card, such as the name, category, address, phone, website and opening hours, along with the photos and the updates a business publishes there. It also means watching for changes the business did not make: Google can update a profile with information from other sources, including suggestions from the public, so a detail that was right last month can be different today. Because the profile shows on Search and on Maps, it is often the first thing people see of a business, before they ever reach its website.
What exactly we work on for your business is written into our agreement before we start. We don’t promise a position in the results: Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, and that there is no way to pay for a better local ranking.
What we need from you: access to the profile from the Google account that owns it, and accurate information about the business, including any change to its name, address, phone or hours as soon as it happens.
Questions
Questions about Google Business Profiles
Do I need to give you my Google password?
No. Google lets the owner of a profile add other people as managers from the owner’s own account. You add us that way, and you can remove us the same way at any time.
Can you get my business to the top of the map results?
No one can promise that. Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, and that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. What a business does control is how accurate and complete its own profile is.
Who owns the profile?
Your business does. Our terms say it plainly: client data and client-owned assets remain the client’s property. If we stop working together, the profile stays where it is, in your account.
Why did my profile change when nobody touched it?
Google can update a profile with information from other sources, including suggestions from people who use Google Maps. Checking the profile regularly is how those changes are noticed and corrected.
What if my business has no storefront?
Google lets a business that serves customers at their own location hide its street address and show a service area instead. The profile still carries the name, category, phone and the other parts described on this page.
