Content and social media for Huntington Beach businesses
The posts, pictures and words that fill a business’s Google Business Profile, its Facebook Page and its Instagram account are its content. We write it and manage those accounts for businesses, from our office in Huntington Beach.
The parts
What a post is made of
An ordinary post, not an ad: what a business publishes on its own accounts.
The account
Who posts it: the business’s own Page, profile or account, with its name and picture.
The picture or video
What people see first: a photograph, a video or a graphic.
The words
The caption or the update that goes with it, written for the place it is published.
The work
What content and social media management involves
Content and social media management is the writing, scheduling and publishing of a business’s own posts, and the care of the accounts they appear on. The places differ: a Google Business Profile can carry updates and photos that show on the business’s card in Search and Maps; a Facebook Page and an Instagram account show posts to the people who follow them and, sometimes, to others; and a website can carry articles that answer the questions customers ask. Managing them means deciding what to publish and where, writing and preparing each post in the format of its platform, publishing on a regular schedule, and keeping an eye on the comments that come back, in the voice of the business. Each platform has its own formats and limits, so the same news is rarely written the same way twice.
What we publish for your business, where, and how often, is agreed in writing before we start. We don’t promise followers or reach: how far a post travels is decided by each platform and by the people who see it.
What we need from you: access to the accounts, the photographs and videos you own and are allowed to use, and someone who can check facts about the business before a post goes out.
Questions
Questions about content and social media
Where do the pictures come from?
From the business, first: photographs of its own work and its own place. Anything else used in a post has to be licensed for that use.
Do posts on my Google Business Profile help?
Updates on a profile show on the business’s card in Search and Maps, so people see them at the moment they are looking at the business. Google does not say that posting changes a profile’s ranking, so we don’t claim it does.
Do I have to be on every platform?
No. Being where your customers already look matters more than being everywhere, and an account that is left unattended says something too.
Who owns the accounts and the content?
Your business owns its accounts. Our terms say that client data and client-owned assets remain the client’s property, and that a client receives a license to use what is produced specifically for it once the fees are paid in full.
Can posts link to my website?
Most can. An update on a Google Business Profile can carry a button to a page, and a Facebook post can carry a link. Instagram allows links in fewer places, such as the account’s profile and its stories.
